MLK Weekend Volunteer Opportunities: Horses and hard workSaturday, January 19, 2019 at 9:00 AM - Monday, January 21, 2019 at 5:00 PM (EST) More Information →
The weekend primarily is dedicated to erecting two tents and horse fencing, and clearing trails for biking, hiking, running and horseback riding. We'll work from 9 a.m. to noon daily, take a lunch break and then resume working at 1 p.m.
If you're OK being outdoors, walking through woods, using hand tools and have a pair of gloves, we could use your help. We have many other more routine volunteer options, as well, and accept volunteers daily.
We'll provide lunch at noon each day, and hand warmers and foot warmers. Volunteer for as many days as you like.
Dress in layers, and wear boots, if you have them.
At 4 p.m., Jan. 19, we'll have a community demonstration of how The PEACH Pit incorporates horses into our counseling sessions.
